Working with Jo has been a dream. She’s been really friendly and professional, understood our brief really quickly, and was producing great copy from the first day of her contract with us. I would definitely hire her again.

Anna Perman, Senior Science Communications Manager at Cancer Research UK.

Joanna supports us regularly with writing scientific press releases that cover a broad range of topics. She can be relied upon to respond to requests quickly – which is very much appreciated when it comes to particularly time-sensitive projects – and to deliver work to a consistently high standard by the specified deadlines. She communicates research findings clearly and concisely, and in ways that help keep the reader engaged.

Emily Packer, Media Relations Manager, eLife.

Jo wrote a great account of our recent Early Diagnosis Research Conference, producing an engaging report summarising key themes from the many talks, workshops and posters across the two-day event. Working with Jo was a very positive experience; she was accommodating of changes to the brief, with a quick turn-around on drafts and edits.

Katy Davidson, Early Diagnosis Officer (Cancer Outcomes), Policy and Information, Cancer Research UK

Technology Networks has enjoyed working with Jo for many years now. Jo consistently produces high-quality, well-researched content for our audience and keeps us updated throughout the writing process.

Anna MacDonald, Managing Editor, Technology Networks

Jo was a delight to work with, and was incredibly prepared, hard-working, and on-hand through the duration of my project with her. The result was a booklet published to celebrate the 10th anniversary of a clinical trials network, which we were incredibly proud of and received great feedback on. Jo did a fantastic job of turning quite dense and complex medical content into a story that was interesting and inspiring to read. Would thoroughly recommend working with Jo on any project that you want bringing to life!

Caitlin Hamilton, Research Brand and Communications team, Cancer Research UK

Jo was a colleague of mine whilst I was Innovation Director at Cancer Research UK. We worked closely together on a number of ground-breaking projects. We were in the founding team for Stand Up to Cancer where Jo's role was crucial. She had to translate complex research into compelling stories for TV producers and filmmakers as well as drive the scripting of key science segments in the show. That meant communicating to a wide range of groups all with different needs. That SU2C is the most successful fundraiser on commercial TV in the U.K. and now a regular season of programmes is testament to her abilities. We also worked together on wider engagement with Cancer Research and again Jo played the key communications role in the launch of our Citizen Science Programme. In a short space of time we created an army of 500,000 citizen scientists around the world and accelerated the progress of some key pieces of research. Jo is enthusiastic and dedicated in her work on any project and able to collaborate effectively with team members from a wide range of disciplines. I would have no hesitation in recommending her for any science communications role or project.

Tim Thorne, former Innovation Director at Cancer Research UK.
