After starting a career in science publishing, as Associate Editor on Drug Discovery Today, an Elsevier journal, and then at Springer-Nature as Senior Editor, Nature Reviews Drug Discovery, I joined one of the world’s largest charities – Cancer Research UK – producing content for patients, the charity’s supporters and researchers. This included annual reviews, web copy, direct marketing materials, fundraising proposals pitches for major donors and corporate partners, and scripts for telemarketing and the first UK Stand Up to Cancer telethon.

Since 2017, I have provided expertise in science writing and editing for clients including British Heart Foundation, British Medical Journal, British Pharmacological Society, Cancer Research UK, eLife Sciences Publications, Royal Society of Chemistry, and Springer-Nature. More recently, I’ve used my experience in fundraising communications to support other charitable organisations such as Teach First and Frontline to optimise their bids for funding, with a 100% success rate.
